Where do I find the direct link to my YouTube video?

Once your video is uploaded to YouTube, you can get the link in two ways:

  1. Highlight the link in the address bar on your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and then click File > Copy (or CTL+C on a PC / Command+C on a Mac)
    Note: The link to your video must be less than 256 characters. If the link is too long, go to option b.
  2. Click the Share button below your video on YouTube.
    This will display a field with a link to your video starting with http://youtu.be. Highlight that link and then click File > Copy (or CTL+C on a PC / Command+C on a Mac).

What should my YouTube video's privacy setting be set to so that people can view it?

Your video's privacy setting on YouTube must be set to either "Public” or "Unlisted” to be visible to end users. "Private” videos cannot be used with your press release.

I've just registered for an iReach account. Now what?

For security purposes, you will be sent an activation link via email. Once you click the activation link and submit an order, the iReach team will begin verifying your account, which may take up to 1 business day.

My registration was rejected. Why?

In order to maintain our credibility and reputation, PR Newswire has very strict guidelines in place for our iReach service. An organization must meet the following criteria in order to establish an iReach account:

1) if publicly traded, the organization can be found on their relevant stock exchange,

2) have not been refused membership with PR Newswire previously,

3) have an active website address,

4) have an active website address that is not a phishing/redirect site or imitating an organization,

5) does not make stock tips,

6) does not offer online gambling,

7) does not promote pornography,

8) has a physical address rather than a P.O. Box,

What kind of content cannot be sent through iReach?

(If you are a public relations or investor relations agency, the source will be your client, not the name of your agency.)

Content that could be considered obscene, libelous, slanderous or otherwise defamatory, false or misleading or which violate any copyright, right of privacy or publicity or other right of any person.

What is the maximum word length for my content?

iReach limits content to a 1,000 words. The optimum length is generally 400 to 600 words - between about a page and a half and two pages. This length is short enough for readers to digest and search engines to spider fully, but long enough to include rich detail.

We recommend keeping your headline shorter than 60 characters including spaces, as search engines will cut off any words after that in the results they show searchers.

How can I set the timing of my distribution?

You can select any time for distribution after 1 business day from now. iReach is not meant for time-sensitive or material news, and therefore does not allow for immediate distribution. With iReach standard timing, your release will be processed within 1 business day of receipt. If you need greater control over when your release is distributed, become a PR Newswire member.

What is Industry and Subject Targeting? How many targets can I choose?

Industry and subject targeting helps your news reach the right audience online, giving you more control over your content's niche website syndication, RSS distribution and industry tagging. You may select up to 5 total targets.

The iReach Editorial team will not edit your content, though they will review it to make sure it meets our guidelines for acceptable copy. Unless it violates these guidelines, your content will be distributed as-is.

How will charges appear on my credit card statement?

The charge for your iReach order will be listed on your credit card statement as "PR Newswire Association".

What is the refund policy?

Once you submit your order, it cannot be refunded. If you wish to make changes to your content after it has been submitted, an additional fee may apply. If your content is rejected, your credit card will be refunded.

How do I use a package I purchased?

Login to iReach and then select the product you wish to order. At the bottom of the order form you will see a drop down menu with the list of packages you have previously purchased. Select the desired package and your order will automatically will be deducted from your package balance. You will not need to enter your payment information when you are sending releases that are part of a previously purchased package.

How do I check my package balance?

Once you are logged into the iReach site, click "Credits & Packages" link at the top right of the site. This will give you a list of all the packages you have purchased and the number of releases you have left to use.

What is a promo code?

Special offers and promotional discounts offered by iReach and its partners are handled via unique promo codes. If you received a promo code, you may use it by entering it into the promo code field at the bottom of the iReach Order Form.

What's a credit, and how do I use mine?

A credit is a discount or special offer that the iReach team has added to a user's account. You can see the discount amount and qualifying iReach distributions for a credit you've been given by signing into your account and clicking the "Credits & Packages" link at the top right of the site. You can apply a credit for any qualifying distribution in the Promotional Code/Credit field at the bottom of the order form.
