What is Times Square photo display?

When you use WebReach Plus, the image you submit with your news will be displayed on the Thomson Reuters sign  in Times Square, the “crossroads of the world,” visited by millions of people every month.* Your photo is accompanied by a headline and displayed for about 15-second. About 5 business days after your content is distributed, you will be emailed a time-stamped, low-res webcam snapshot of your photo and headline on the sign. A high-res version of your photo displayed on the sign is available for an additional fee.

Where do I find the direct link to my YouTube video?

Once your video is uploaded to YouTube, you can get the link in two ways:

  1. Highlight the link in the address bar on your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and then click File > Copy (or CTL+C on a PC / Command+C on a Mac)
    Note: The link to your video must be less than 256 characters. If the link is too long, go to option b.
  2. Click the Share button below your video on YouTube.
    This will display a field with a link to your video starting with Highlight that link and then click File > Copy (or CTL+C on a PC / Command+C on a Mac).

What should my YouTube video's privacy setting be set to so that people can view it?

Your video's privacy setting on YouTube must be set to either "Public” or "Unlisted” to be visible to end users. "Private” videos cannot be used with your press release.

I've just registered for an iReach account. Now what?

For security purposes, you will be sent an activation link via email. Once you click the activation link and submit an order, the iReach team will begin verifying your account, which may take up to 1 business day.  Upon registration, your content/press release will go through a source authentication process, in which PR Newswire confirms that the source company listed in the release is legitimately being represented by the registrant's organization.  PR Newswire confirms the validity of content in an effort maintain the integrity of our wire service and to ensure that source companies are being properly represented.

My registration was rejected. Why?

In order to maintain our credibility and reputation, PR Newswire has very strict guidelines in place for our iReach service. An organization must meet the following criteria in order to establish an iReach account:

  1. if publicly traded, the organization can be found on their relevant stock exchange,
  2. have not been refused membership with PR Newswire previously,
  3. have an active website address,
  4. have an active website address that is not a phishing/redirect site or imitating an organization,
  5. does not make stock tips,
  6. does not offer online gambling,
  7. does not promote pornography,
  8. has a physical address rather than a P.O. Box,
  9. can verify a registrant's affiliation with the organization,
  10. If the source organization has an active PR Newswire membership, the registrant is listed as an authorized sender.

Yes, iReach currently supports customers anywhere in the world.  If you are located outside the U.S. or Canada, please note:

  1. iReach does not currently accept credit cards outside of the U.S. or Canada.  Users outside the U.S. or Canada should use the PayPal payment option.
  2. Only English-language content may be distributed via iReach.

What kind of content cannot be sent through iReach?

    • All content distributed via the iReach service must include the name of the source, namely the entity, organization or individual making the announcement or issuing the press release. (If you are a public relations or investor relations agency, the source will be your client, not the name of your agency.)
  • - Defamatory, Inflammatory or Potentially Libelous Copy.
    • Content that could be considered obscene, libelous, slanderous or otherwise defamatory, false or misleading or which violate any copyright, right of privacy or publicity or other right of any person.
  • - Online gaming/gambling information.
  • - Litigation-related content.
  • - Material news for public companies.

What is the maximum word length for my content?

iReach limits content to a 1,000 words. The optimum length is generally 400 to 600 words - between about a page and a half and two pages. This length is short enough for readers to digest and search engines to spider fully, but long enough to include rich detail.

Is there an optimal headline length?

We recommend keeping your headline shorter than 60 characters including spaces, as search engines will cut off any words after that in the results they show searchers.

How can I set the timing of my distribution?

You can select any time for distribution after 1 business day from now. iReach is not meant for time-sensitive or material news, and therefore does not allow for immediate distribution. With iReach standard timing, your release will be processed within 1 business day of receipt. If you need greater control over when your release is distributed, become a PR Newswire member.

Do you review/edit my content before it goes out?

The iReach Editorial team will not edit your content, though they will review it to make sure it meets our guidelines for acceptable copy. Unless it violates these guidelines, your content will be distributed as-is.

Can I cancel or change my release once I've submitted my order?

The iReach team can assist you with changes to a release that's been submitted but not sent yet, as well as removal from our web site and/or content changes after distribution.  In all cases, additional fees may apply.

How can I see my order history?

Once you are logged into the iReach site, you will see a link at the top right of the screen called ‘My Dashboard’. This will give you a list of all content you have distributed, the product ordered and the price paid.

What kind of reporting will I get after my release is distributed?

  • WebReach - You will be emailed a ReleaseWatch report that shows a sample of websites that have picked up your content.  The actual distribution will actually be much larger.  
  • WebReach Plus - You will be emailed a report that show a sample of websites that have picked up your content.  The actual distribution will actually be much larger, and a receive low resolution snapshots of their Image displayed on the Thomson Reuters sign in Times Square.*  A high resolution photo is available for an additional fee.
  • SearchReach - Does not include a report.

I get an error when I submit my payment, why?

First, make sure you've filled out all the required fields. The most common reason why you'll get an error when you submit your payment is that the address and zip code you entered in the payment page don't match the address and zip code on file with your credit card company.  Ensure that the address you entered matches what is on your credit card billing statement.  Also be advised that we currently only accept credit cards issued by banks in the United States and Canada.

Once you submit your order, it cannot be refunded. If you wish to make changes to your content after it has been submitted, an additional fee may apply. If your content is rejected, your order will be refunded.

How do I use a package I purchased?

  3. On the payment page, select the desired package from the pre-paid release dropdown and click "Apply".  Your order will automatically will be deducted from your package balance.

What's a credit, and how do I use mine?

A credit is a discount or special offer that the iReach team has added to a user's account. You can see the discount amount and qualifying iReach distributions for a credit you've been given by signing into your account, clicking the "My Dashboard" link at the top right of the site and viewing the “Credits” table. You can apply a credit for any qualifying distribution in the Promotional Code/Credit field at the top of the payment page.
